Starman gave me this banner. Some girls like flowers, some like jewelry, I like car stuff! I’m going to install the carb on Imperator Slowiosa and see if I can get her running.

Now that you ask, really nothing. Helped dad diagnose charging system on the racecar and measure up getting the rear suspension re-aligned somewhat, showered. Maybe i should finally get those few posts i meant to write to oppo written up...

Working until 1400. Currently at Arby’s contemplating whether to stop the CHKDSK that’s been running on my DVR computer since Wednesday and just considering the damaged files to be write-offs.

Any recommendations on a utility to rebuild a drive and repair/replace the bad sectors? CHKDSK says it’s doing the job and allegedly recovered 4 files, but it’s been hovering at 13% for days, with the HD light on steady.

I’m on vacation this week, so I’m just relaxing for now. Probably going to go for a drive in a bit, and then have to wrap some birthday gifts for my partner (he turns 40 on Wednesday), and then I need to do some housecleaning. I want to get the house tidied up before we get a new washer sometime this week, as our old one conked out a couple weeks ago.

Well, I’m waiting for my Torx socket set so I can replace the crank position sensor on the Roadster. Wednesday at the earliest.

Sadly I do not have any recommendations on such a thing! :( Usually CHKDSK does it for me after a first or second run. It shouldn’t take days to complete, so it’s probably stuck.

Well, I did set it up with a bunch of the advanced options (/r /f /b /X or whatever), so I’m not surprised it’s taking this long. It is a tertiary drive so I can yank it and put it in another system to free up this computer.

Looks like playing Portal 2 community levels, meeting with a contractor, then heading to the ORV park with some friends. If I have any motivation left after that (I won’t) I’ll look to putting fuel pumps in the Saab and re-wiring my cold start injector.

Good luck with the carb! I hate those magical little jerks. Every adjustment I make seems to just make them slightly worse.

Already been to Woodman’s and back for the “big” grocery shopping.

Now sitting in my home office, listening to boats on the chain, annoyed that ours won’t be ready until tomorrow - missing this gorgeous day. Also annoyed that I have some NX work that I want to do, but have to crank through a design meeting agenda and some financials for the new boss first.

If I can get through this sh**, plan to do some Svending on the Mrs’ VW.

I’m learning to program in Go, since I did Rust already (actually a quite likable language for someone who started programming with C), and proving to a few people at work that compiled, statically-typed languages are just flat out faster for certain tasks.

As a side note, *ack* Ruby. Very nice and likable language let down by the next generation of PHP-so-called-coders.

Slept off mild hangover from Saturday night. Then futilely attempted to shop for a few things at the outlet mall, didn’t find what I needed, so went home and ordered them online after wasting two hours.

Finished building partition between living room and dining room, cleaned out bulk of debris that was building up in the family room from moving and renovations, partially installed backsplash in downstairs bathroom, thanks to prior owner’s decision to install a freestanding vanity in a corner location.
